In recognition of our Military and first responders and the sacrifices that they make Furia Motorsports honored them with free entrance into the main grandstands for this very special night of racing at Lakeport Speedway with a special guest appearance from Nor Cal Drifters from Sonoma Speedway. Thank you to Military past, present and future and first responders for what you do we greatly appreciate all of you. Military and First Responders will again be recognized and thanked July 18th at Ukiah Speedway courtesy of Anderson Valley Logging.
Nor Cal Drifters are a new fast rising motor sport that originated in Japan. We had 7 drivers making their first appearance at Lakeport speedway, most of the drivers have been driving anywhere from 2 to 6 years and they can been seen at Sonoma Speedway Wednesday nights. Thank you to Jon Duncan, Rob Pascua, Kodi Rosado, Crick Filippi (of Team Burn The Most), Josef Farasati, Tyler Knudsen, Ryan Rasberry for demonstrating for us side by side with two cars after our heat races and after our mains it was a free for all. The Nor Cal Drifters will be doing demonstrations again Saturday May 30th at Ukiah Speedway.
Congratulations to all our Jr Trophy Presenters and our Trophy winners last saturday night at Lakeport Speedway. Racing action this last saturday night was filled with Legends, Jr Jammers, Pro Jammers, Taco Bell Bombers, Midgets and Vintage Midgets with results below for up to top five finishes:
Legends
Fast time: goes to Jeremy Doss with 13.837
Heat race: winner Jeremy Doss, 2nd Bill Kistenmacher, 3rd Mike Brummit
Main event: winner Jeremy Doss, 2nd Mike Brummit, 3rd Rosie Togneri, 4th Bill Kistenmacher
Heat race legends stayed pretty steady, lap 3 Jeremy Doss took lead over Mike Brummit and held the lead for the win. Around lap 6 Bill Kistenmacher took 2nd place over from Brummit. Main event Mike Brummit and Jeremy Doss battle for the lead on lap 1. Doss take lead and holds the lead for the whole main and almost catching up to Mike Brummit who was holding second place almost ¾ lap ahead of Brummit.
Jr Jammers
Fast time: goes to Elizabeth Ingalls with 15.850
Heat race: winner Brandi Robertson, 2nd Steven Sprague, 3rd Elizabeth Ingalls, 4th Jordan Crouch
Main event: winner Jordan Crouch, 2nd Steven Sprague, 3rd Brandi Robertson, 4th Elizabeth Ingalls
Steven Sprague takes lead on lap 2 then Sprague and Robertson make contact. Robertson gets high and makes her way with all four tires back on the ground to continue the battle for the win. Robertson takes lead on lap 7 and holds it for the win. Main event Jordan Crouch takes the lead early on in the main and holds it for all 30 laps battling pro drives to stay in front. 26 laps in and the first caution flag was thrown and Jordon maintained lead even after green flag restart until checkered flag was flown giving Jordon her first win of the season.
Pro Jammers
Fast time: goes to David Rogers with 14.795
Trophy Dash: winner Kody Hubert, 2nd Ryan McGough, 3rd Justin Moran, 4th David Rogers
1st Heat race: winner Michelle Odell, 2nd Lynette Kuhl, 3rd Gene Odell Sr, 4th Gene Odell Jr, 5th Nancy Bettencourt
2nd Heat race: winner Justin Moran, 2nd Alan Perry, 3rd Kody Hubert, 4th David Rogers, 5th Ryan McGough
Main event: winner Justin Moran, 2nd Kody Hubert, 3rd Alan Perry, 4th Ryan McGough, 5th David Rogers
Trophy Dash Ryan McGough takes the lead early in the trophy dash until around last lap when Kody Hubert takes the lead in turn 3 and 4 for the win. Justin Morain and David Rogers were keeping close wait for their opportunity that did not come. Heat Race 1 Lynette Duhl battles for the lead with Victoria Marrufo who gets turned around on lap 2 sending her to the back. Lap 5 Michelle Odell challenges Lynette Duhl for the lead when Lynette Duhl comes down forcing Michelle Odell to back off. Lap 8 Michelle Odell takes lead and hold on for the win. Heat Race 2 Alan Perry takes the lead early in the race. Caution comes out for Adam Smith getting tangled with Ryan McGough taking Smith out for the nite and Hubert receiving some damage as well. After green is thrown Perry grabs the lead and holds the lead until he is challenged by Justin Moran who takes the lead on lap 9 and holds it until the end.
Main event Perry takes lead on lap 3 from jr Jammer Jordan. Behind Perry is Moran and McGouch. Lap 15 Perry and Moran come into lap traffic giving Moran his opportunity to take the lead. Lap 19 Michelle Odell, Alan Perry and Justin Moran go 3 wide in turn 4. Lynette Duhl tags the wall causing first caution to be thrown on lap 16. Moran holds on to the lead for the win, Hubert Passes Perry to take over 2nd place.
Taco Bell Bombers
Fast time: goes to Gino Buchignani with 13.995 (New Track Record)
Trophy Dash: winner Trystan Mucci, 2nd Dustin Kuhl, 3rd Gino Buchignani, 4th Bradley Brackett
1st Heat race: winner Casey Blocher, 2nd George Abella, 3rd Brian White, 4th Robert Taylor, 5th Kevin Brackett
2nd Heat race: winner Adrianna Strugnell, 2nd Bradley Brackett, 3rd Dustin Kuhl, 4th Gino Buchignani, 5th Trystan Mucci
Main event: winner Adrianna Strugnell, 2nd Casey Blocher, 3rd Trystan Mucci, 4th Dustin Kuhl, 5th Brian White
Trophy dash all four cars were tight waiting for their room to make their move. Bradley Brackett takes the lead early but Trystan Mucci was not far behind. Mucci holding tight get a couple pushes from Duhl giving him the edge over Brackett and takes the win. Main event With a tight pack George Abella takes the lead with Brain White holding on tight for the challenge. Gino Buchignani and Trystan Mucci making their way fast to the front of the pack. Kevin Brackett hits the wall causing his tire to follow him down the track on lap 14. Green flag Abella takes back over the lead until last lap turn three where Bracket takes out leader abella and Brian White gets into the back of Brackett taking all three cars out in final turn. This gave the win to Adrianna Strugnell who was running 2nd behind abella.
Midgets
Fast time: goes to Cody Gerhardt with 11.788
1st Heat race: winner Lauren Snider, 2nd Cody Gerhardt, 3rd Scott Pierovich, 4th Floyd Alvis, 5th Michael Donaldson
2nd Heat race: winner Michael Snider, 2nd Davey Hamilton Jr, 3rd Frankie Guerrini, 4th Gary Conterno, 5th Mark Maliepaard
Main event: winner Frankie Guerrini, 2nd Davey Hamilton Jr, 3rd Michael Snider, 4th Cody Gerhardt, 5th Scott Pierovich
Heat Race 1 All cars kept a fair distance not giving much option for passing or lead changes. With Cody Gerhardt and Scott Pierovich trying to make their way to the front Lauren Snider takes the win. Heat Race 2 Michael Sinder follows dad and takes the win with challenges from Davey Hamilton jr and Frankie Guerrini. Main event Davey Hamilton Jr takes the lead early in the race with challengers Guerrini and M Sinder holding second and third waitin for a change to challenge Hamilton. Lap 19 1st caution is brought out for Jr Williams tagging the wall. On restart Guerrini takes the lead and holds it to the finish over Hamilton. Mark Maliepaard spins in turn 1 and 2 on lap 22. Guerrini takes lead and wins with Hamilton following close behind for a 2nd place finish.
